Experience reports - Mushrooms and LSD

Report

Background Information

I’ve been meaning to try more supposedly well meshing combinations, I’ve read about jedi flipping but I didn’t want to take mdma with these two substances on a Sunday morning, especially after rolling the weekend before. A friend from out of town joined me, but I am only going to be talking about my experience, as it was a complete hallucinatory state, and I’ve never experienced something of this intensity.

  • Ingestion/Come-up: 6:00-7:00
  • LSD peak: 7:10-8:00
  • Combined peak: 8:00-14:40
  • Come-down: 14:40-16:30

Timeline

00:00 - 1:00:

I took the 225μg LSD tab at 5:55am, since I was too anxious to wait the other five minutes I guess, I rounded in the timeline. It was a pretty steady onset, I was sober when I ingested and I felt it growing after about 20 minutes. At about 6:40 I ground up my 9g of mushrooms in a coffee grinder, dumped it into a glass, and poured some Sunny D in there. I stirred it, drank it, nearly puked, and had a seat. At this point I was getting level 3 geometry on my ceiling, obvious expanding patterns, slow moving, changing, they were a different hue than my ceiling, like slightly darker. I didn’t have much distortion at this point, color enhancements were kind of there, physical stimulation was obvious, it was becoming difficult to formulate words. After 20 minutes of letting the shrooms sink in I took a dab to help with my nausea.

T+1:10 - 2:00
I left my apartment at around 7:00, deciding my nausea was better enough to allow me to go walking. It was rather cold out but only on my skin, my internal temperature was pretty unnoticable. I turned on my playlist, starting with Moderat, and the music seemed to alter the mood of the sky and my settings, but in a positive way. Colours were deeply saturated and all surfaces were intricately detailed, I was in the park and the bricks of the fountain area were covered in faces screaming to escape their prisons, some had whole heads and hands even. I found a little note on address paper on top of a gutter drain, it wasn’t damp and will be pictured to the right, reading it made me greatly confused and I held onto the note for the rest of the trip.

The flowers danced and I started to receive geometric information from opening rifts between relationships and actions that I was perceiving, emotions within inorganic and organic but non-sentient organisms became readily apparent and I felt my lines start to blur. I was having thoughts but they weren’t generated from me, they were being generated from the world. I still knew what I was at this point. I walked down an alleyway and laid down in the middle of it, reaching put at the sky. When I would move my hands in front of my vision it appeared to me that I was peeling back layers of my dimension, so I just kept pulling away at the sky, taking clouds and lighter blues away from it. The blue permeated with intricate geometry, which was both information, shapes, and emotion all at the same time. It seemed to kind of talk to me, but not with words. I met a cat on my travels and sat down with it. I talked to it for a good 10 minutes before I started to feel the shrooms hitting me, I knew I was going to start peaking soon and I wasn’t sure what the ego death would be like. I got up and walked away from the cat, which I perceived to be a being within my trip and to have concrete knowledge about my journey and my future.

T+2:00 - 8:40
I was in the park again when the shrooms hit me real hard, it wasn’t immediate, I noticed that the idea of “me” was becoming more and more alien to me, I was forgetting which thoughts were mine and which thoughts were nature’s, my world seemed to be starting to melt around me. Information I had previously held onto drifted away, and when I reached the centre flower piece in front of the community centre I felt my body disappear. It was like my soul had been pushed out of my head, and I was no longer a person, I was everything, everything was me. The pieces of my dimension opened up, flayed alive, into millions and millions of layers of information that poured into my brain. I was so overloaded with all the hidden patterns behind every ounce of matter rippling in the world that I completely forgot my identity or what had been previously occurring. When I started to gain focus and was able to keep walking I tried to think about something, anything, I knew that I had to think and that I was doing things. I tried to think about where I was, but I was nowhere, I was in myself, and that didn’t make any sense. I saw the trees, I remembered the image but not what they were, they looked like gods. I looked down at my body, and then I remembered what it was.

This body was in the park, but whose body was it? A human’s. But what is a human? I didn’t know, what do humans do? Do they stand here? As soon as I got some sense of existence I walked into the rose garden and had a seat on the bench. My music had become indistinguishable from any other active thing in my universe, I was also the music, it moved through me and regulated my body’s rhythms, I had no other idea how to walk but to listen to the beats ringing through my ear drums. I don’t really recall what anything looked like, I remember lots of things seemed to be missing. I would look at a tree and it would be growing and growing outward, and then it would shift and notice me and it would start growing inwardly, which didn’t make any sense and wasn’t physically possible so I was terrified. I felt like I was inside of a petri dish looking out at human towering over me, watching me. Nothing was in my control, I didn’t even know what I looked like.

I sat in the park, my mouth wide open, staring into nothing. I was so overloaded with internally generating information that nothing seemed real anymore. Trying to listen to the music was too difficult, my buddy was talking to me but I didn’t understand what she was saying and all her words melted into paintings and explosions in my vision. I was trying to put things together but they would fall apart as I did it, my external world seemed to be rising and falling around me, drastic changes in perspective and feeling like I was soaring way up high and upside down. I wasn’t even touching the ground, I couldn’t feel anything on the outside of my body. It was as if every nerve ending in my body was lit up, I was washed in wave after wave of debilitating euphoria. I thought that the body I was holding onto was being turned into raw information also, that I was being rebuilt into a new me, reconstructed by the new galaxy in which I found myself, the world of gods and writhing skies, where nothing existed and I was only emotion, where information ran like rivers down my vision and through my veins. My buddy came over from her walk and sat down on the bench next to me, I knew that she was my buddy and that I could talk to her but I didn’t know how to talk and I didn’t know who she really was or what she wanted or was thinking. It became apparent to me that I was tripping, I didn’t know what this was, and that I was gone, but where did I go? I was right here. I looked at my phone, it was in my hand, and I noticed there was a time. I forgot it, though, since I moved to the music. I realised the band had changed, but when had that happened? Then it made sense that not everything was one thing, and I could slowly piece together “tripping” and “home” and “music” and “move.”

I knew I had to do something, move was the first thought that came to mind. When it all came together my world brightened and things started to exist again, there seemed to be less people and everything sparkled. The gods would look at me and grin or frown, looking concerned or excited to see me. I got up, now knowing that I had to do something, as I was walking back home I got extreme distortions, cars that were bounding animals and rippling, bulging concrete lines. I felt like the world behind me was disappearing as I left it, but I didn’t care because I had somewhere to GO now. I looked at my vaporizer in my hand, and decided it was my little friend. I reached my front door and it didn’t look like any place I recognised, but I knew it was my front door. I opened it up and was met with another new sight, a room that I hadn’t seen before. I put my phone down and walked into my room. My bed was familiar, at least. I knew this was a safe place, so I laid down and let the information flow. I felt like I was going to explode with all the information I was receiving, but it was just orgasm after orgasm so I didn’t mind. I don’t really remember how long I laid there for, at one point I thought that I was an egg because the egg came before the chicken and then my world was made up of eggs and eggs alone. I thought that my bathroom was an egg lab, that I was the king egg. I was laughing my ass off the whole time, when I realised that wasn’t the truth I started looking at my phone for answers, but got none.

Once I had some sense of self, I knew who I was again, I was still peaking. I went out into my living room and turned on music, the room was bright and sunny and full of highly saturated people dancing also, but they were really just my furniture. Dancing came really easy, I had all the stimulation that I recall from LSD, I had a lot of bodily control and tactile sensations were very intense, so dancing was incredibly enjoyable. I danced for the rest of the peak, around two or so hours, before my buddy came home and told me she was having a ballet in my bathroom. She stayed in there for a while, I didn’t really know what was going on, then she left to go look for food but I was still peaking so I really didn’t want to go eat anything. Dancing was beautiful and I felt incredibly attractive. I had a long conversation with myself in the mirror about who I was (again) and how I got to where I am, and what I looked like. I spent a long time inspecting myself so that I could remember what I looked like again. It was a very surreal experience. At around 14:40 I started coming down, it was a really fast drop, and I had no negative physical sensations. I spent most of the come down on my computer, writing, and reading the note that I found over and over again, putting together what its real context was and how it actually got there. I didn’t eat anything until 18:00.
