Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) are a class of pain relievers that target cyclooxygenases, which are enzymes that produce prostaglandins, promoters of pain and inflammation. They are often found as additives in opioid painkillers, such as Vicodin, as an abuse-deterrent as well as a potentiator.
