This guide will help you to decarboxylate the relatively neurotoxic compound ibotenic acid, to muscimol. Both compounds are found naturally in Amanita muscaria.

  • Heat Amanita muscaria at 200 °F (93°C) for two hours,[1] or 100 °C for 1.5 hour.
