Naphazoline, is a vasoconstrictor and decongestant. Naphazoline has marked alpha adrenergic activity.

Pharmacology

Ophthalmic drug administration

Eye drops (brand names Clear Eyes, and Cleari) narrowing swollen blood vessels (ophthalmic arteries, and ophthalmic veins) to relieve red eye.[1]

Marijuana induces corneal vasodilation (so called red eye) and a reduction of intraocular pressure (IOP).[2]

Dangerous interactions

  • MAOIs - due to its alpha adrenergic activity.
