Pharmacology/Classification: 4-PrO-DMT, or 4-Propionoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine, 4-Propanoyloxy DMT, & O-Propionylpsilocin, is a synthetic psychedelic drug from the tryptamine family with psychedelic effects, and is believed to act as a prodrug for psilocin. It produces a head-twitch response in mice. It's a serotonergic psychedelic, and is partial agonist of the 5-HT1D, 5-HT1B and 5-HT1A serotonin receptors. It's affinity for KOR is fairly high; over 4000.

History: It has been sold online as a designer drug since May 2019. It was first identified as a new psychoactive substance in Sweden, in July 2019.

Chemistry: It's chemical formula is C15H20N2O2, with a molar mass of 260.337 g·mol−1.

Effects: The effects typically take 20–40 minutes to set in and can last for 4–8 hours. The effects are similar to other psychedelic tryptamines related to psilocin, and include visual distortions, such as enhanced colors, geometric patterns, and hallucinations, enhanced emotions, ranging from euphoria to deep introspection, changes in thought patterns and perception of time, and a heightened sense of connectedness or empathy.

Dosage: It is known to be active via oral and inhalation routes of administration. The oral dosages range from 5mg (light), 15mg (common), 30mg (moderate), to 45mg+ (heavy). The LD50 is unknown, and no known overdoses or deaths have been reported. It is likely that the toxicity profiles are similar to psilacetin.
